Job OverviewA law firm seeks a Patent Agent to counsel clients and prepare and prosecute complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and medical device patent applications. This fully remote position allows candidates to work from anywhere in the U.S., offering both full-time and part-time opportunities.

DutiesDraft high-quality U.S. patent applications and prepare effective responses to Office Actions before the USPTO.Provide strategic advice to clients on patentability analyses, competitor monitoring, and freedom-to-operate analyses.Manage assigned docket, organize related tasks, and balance multiple priorities.Assist in managing and expanding domestic and international patent portfolios.Analyze complex technical disclosures, drawings, and evaluate patent documents and industry articles.Requirements2-5 years of experience in patent prosecution and client counseling, focusing on mechanical and/or medical device technologies.Valid USPTO registration number in good standing.EducationBachelor's degree (or higher) in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.CertificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing of at least one state bar (for attorney applicants).SkillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.Highly organized and reliable in meeting deadlines.Self-starter with a positive attitude toward client service and ability to work independently in a remote setting.Benefits100% remote flexibility with no commuting hassle.Access to sophisticated, high-end work with a boutique culture.Mentorship and professional development opportunities.Standard benefits package.
