Job OverviewA law firm seeks a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least five years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution.
DutiesHarvest inventions directly from clients.Advise clients on invention disclosures, patent strategy, and prosecution.Evaluate cutting-edge technology.Draft and prosecute US patent applications.Guide prosecution of foreign patent applications.Contribute to opinion work and client counseling.Support litigation efforts.Provide technical support across the practice.RequirementsGenuine passion for technology and a collaborative spirit.Sharp attention to detail and a strategic mindset.Strong analytical skills and clear communication of complex concepts.Client-first mentality and team player.Excellent writing skills, both technical and general.EducationDegree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
CertificationsRegistered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
