How it works
Every flashcard is organized by MPEP chapter — all 29 chapters covered. Choose a chapter you're studying that week, or let the system suggest the deck where you have the most gaps based on your practice question history.
Each card shows the question first. Read it, recall the answer, then flip to see it. A citation to the specific MPEP section appears on every answer card so you know exactly where the rule lives — not just what it says.
After flipping, mark the card as 'Got it' or 'Review again.' The system uses spaced repetition to bring back the cards you're shaky on more often — and phases out the ones you've consistently nailed.

Why it matters
The patent bar tests 100 specific rules from the MPEP — not general legal reasoning. Candidates who read a chapter once retain about 20% of it a week later. Flashcards with spaced repetition change that. Each time you successfully recall a rule, the next review is pushed further out. Each time you miss it, the card comes back sooner.
Over 6–8 weeks, this systematically builds the durable recall the exam actually requires. Passive reading doesn't get you there.
What's included
Every flashcard is available to all users — no PRO subscription needed. It's the largest free patent bar flashcard set available.
The system schedules your review sessions automatically. Cards you miss come back sooner. Cards you know drift to the background. No manual deck management.
Each card links the answer to the specific MPEP section, so you always know where to go if you want to read the full rule — not just the exam shorthand.
Beyond chapter decks, we have curated sets for the highest-frequency exam topics: AIA changes, priority rules, continuation practice, and more.
See exactly how many cards you've mastered, which are still in learning, and which are new. Your progress persists across sessions.
The flashcard interface is fully mobile-optimized. A 10-minute flashcard session fits in a commute, a lunch break, or the 20 minutes before bed.
When to use flashcards
Weeks 1–3 — Introduction
Run flashcards alongside your initial chapter reading. The cards reinforce what you just read before it fades. Even 10 minutes after each study session makes a measurable difference.
Weeks 4–6 — Active recall
Shift to using flashcards before reading — try to recall the rule first, then check the MPEP. This forces retrieval rather than recognition, which builds stronger retention.
Weeks 7–8 — Maintenance
Focus only on cards in 'Learning' status. You've covered the material — now the system surfaces exactly the rules that haven't fully stuck yet. 15 minutes daily is enough.
